GFS/Fxcon is the native solution for z/OS which allows information management, storage and recovery using EMC² Centera® devices, EMC²’s equipment line for Content Addressed Storage.

GFS/Fxcon provides fast and low-cost access to fixed content information, i.e., information that is already in its final form and that will not be changed while in storage. Information of this nature often needs to be stored for extended periods to comply with legal, audit or regulation requirements.

GFS/Fxcon turns the Centera device into a means to store fixed content in IBM mainframes. Besides the access method implementation, GFX/Fxcon manages all the objects stored in Centera making sure they will exist and be available throughout the information retention period.
